What is the Valley of Dry Bones (Ezek. )? Bible Answer: Ezekiel is about the future of the nation of Israel, but it starts with a vision about a valley full of bones. The hand of the LORD was upon me, and He brought me out by the Spirit of the LORD and set me down in the middle of the valley; and it was full of bones. (NASB.   Pastor Paul LeBoutillier of Calvary Chapel Ontario (Oregon) teaches through the Bible from the book of Ezekiel. Go to for a complete list of Bible teachings.

The Vision of the Valley of Dry Bones (–14) In the vision of verses 1 and 2, Ezekiel saw the dry bones of Israel and Judah in a valley. He was ordered to prophesy to the bones that they would come to life. With dramatic force the prophet presents the heartening news that Israel may hope to . Our Talmudic sages debated whether Ezekiel's vision of the dry bones was a parable for his day or an actual resurrection. As a parable, the exiles in Babylonia were the metaphoric dry bones and Ezekiel's vision promised that they would be returned to Israel with ruach Elohim-the breath of God animating their resurrection (Babylonian Talmud, Sanhedrin 92b).Author: Dalia Marx.

This is a prophesy concerning the national restoration of Israel. God's earthly people have long been buried as a nation and the ten tribes hidden out of sight in many countries of the world. They are spoken of here as "dry bones," "very dry." When the Lord comes back to earth again, these dry bones, so to speak, will be raised and brought to life. Then we'll put it in the oven and bake it for about 20 minutes. That will really make this dry, tasteless macaroni really come to life. This dry macaroni reminds me of a story in the Bible. It is the story of the prophet Ezekiel. God took Ezekiel and showed him a valley that was filled with dry bones.

THE PARABLE OF THE DRY BONES. Ezekiel 37 1 The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones, 2 And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry.

God transported Ezekiel—probably not literally, but in a vision—to a valley full of dry bones and directed him to speak to the bones.

Ezekiel was to tell the bones that God would make breath enter the bones and they would come to life, just as in the creation of man when He breathed life into Adam (Genesis ). Ezekiel 37 New International Version (NIV) The Valley of Dry Bones.

37 The hand of the Lord was on me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones.
